Review: The Punisher Season 1 Episode 11 “Danger Close”

High octane intensity comes in the form of adrenaline raising action sequences and compounding emotional stakes, this episode excellently capitalises upon the season’s set-up. Not only drawing on key relationships formed across the season, with Frank and Sarah, or Madani and Russo, but also Frank’s increasing sense of commitment, ‘The Punisher’ goes all in on letting Castle go all out. The final action sequence drips with emotion, with the poised, captivating Bernthal, juxtaposed with a brilliant Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The villains may still feel generic, bland and more plot mechanisms than deep, evolving characters, but this was still a compelling watch. 9.2/10
