Review: Mindhunter Season 1 Episode 8 “Episode 8”

Ford’s need for control and ownership of the study is clearly displayed here, as the character attempts to apply the research and his understanding of deviant behaviour into a real world context. The writers cleverly find a way to highlight this while continuing the theme of academia versus practicality, consistently constructing the notion that many civilians are unaware and apprehensive to confront the reality of duplicity. Ford’s investigation into Roger is an excellent culmination of these ideas, as well as his development. While this showcases the formula slightly being adjusted, the slow pacing does still mean the show meanders around points it could make quicker. 8.8/10
