Review: Fear The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 12 “Brother’s Keeper”

There is more or less an expectation that The Walking Dead franchise must incorporate zombies into its narrative. However, the first half of this season showcased some of the show’s best writing and arguably most tense moments, when the focus fell upon survival within relationships and faction warfare. This episode both deviates and sustains that approach by utilising zombies not as random encounters, but as a tool of frustration for a character. While such a decision is too quickly portrayed and is more visually symbolic than meaningful, it does create a riveting situation that enforces character for a number of the survivors. The conflict grows organically and leads to real consequence that should have a proper influence on the show’s future. 8.4/10
