Review: Narcos Season 3 Episode 6 “Best Laid Plans”

Throughout this season of ‘Narcos’ the directors and writers have cleverly created anticipation and a sense of culmination through superb character development and arcs. Many of those are emphasised in this episode, as the roles of Miguel, Pacho, David and Jorge are cemented and their future directions highlighted. Yet, even with a well orchestrated and edited series of action sequences, the show still feels as if it is holding back. There is definite visual ambition on the cards, but nothing truly electrifying or as absorbing as the show came close to with the previous episode’s ending. The formula of leaving these moments to the end is also starting to wear thin, and even though the character work is again excellent, I am beginning to want to see consequence and fallout for our main players. 8.3/10
