Review: Shadowhunters Season 2 Episode 18 “Awake, Arise or be Forever Fallen”

This episode contains a lot of filler, from Magnus’ flashbacks which are meant to serve to reinforce the state of him and Alex before they got together but simply seem repetitive and unnecessary, to the show’s desperate attempts at trying to keep Simon relevant. However, again ‘Shadowhunters’ finds success in its main narrative, especially when it places emphasis on both the wider mythological arc, and the Clave reacts to events, leading to well written and formulated ‘political talks’. The search for Jonathan here is pretty predictable, and nothing happens that is particularly exciting, but the show is on the right track. 6.6/10
