Review: Shadowhunters Season 2 Episode 14 “The Fair Folk”

Despite presenting significant expansion to the show’s world, wider mythology and political aspects, the contrived nature of specific circumstances, particularly in forcing conflict within Clary and Simon’s relationship is exceptionally off-putting. From the first sequence, the writers in-organically attempt to create drama that is never earned. Poor writing and acting also doesn’t help, but luckily beautiful cinematography, set design and effects do help distract. It is just unfortunate that both Simon and Jace were undermined in the process, losing authority, urgency and respect. 5.7/10
