Review: Preacher Season 2 Episode 1 “On The Road”

Quickly finding the urgency that the first season desperately needed, ‘Preacher’ begins its second season with extremely well directed, story-focussed premiere, that introduced interesting new characters and reinforced the most intriguing aspects of the three leads. Opening with an excellently shot car-chase and shoot-out, this episode took advantage of its adult-orientated rating, with the perfect balance of deeper character subtitles and bold gruesome action and gore. Some of the humour continues to flop and while the characters have a great dynamic, I hope this is sustained in a way that is continuously evolving if we stick to such a small cast. The villain is also compelling, providing momentum and pushing the leads forward. 9.1/10
