Review: Orange Is The New Black Season 5 Episode 10 ‘The Reverse Midas Touch”

Placing such a prime focus upon Piscatella and his motivations should have granted the show an opportunity to move away from the meanderings of the riot and negotiations and revealed deeper layers to the character as representative of the guards. Yet, the show instead just reinforces what we already know, with very surface-level information that has little purpose. It is supposed to be emotive and suspenseful, but fails in both. The rest of the episode also lacks any form of momentum, with no compelling storylines, other than possibly Gloria’s which will likely be drawn out til the end. 5.7/10
