Review: Orange Is The New Black Season 5 Episode 4 “Litchfield’s Got Talent’

‘Orange Is The New Black’ presents great balance in this episode, managing to serve up laughs and heart, yet still unable to promote many of the smaller stories and their significance. While the likes of Crazy Eyes, Red and Sophia all contribute compelling, quieter moments filled with emotion and beautiful character work stressed by the actors’ performances, the more dramatic aspects certainly overshadow. The talent show, while not as consequential as it could have been, was hilarious and gave the characters something to do rather just meander around. However, again the flashbacks, while interesting in showing cross-culture issues, had no grander point to serve the overall show. 8.3/10
