Review: Fargo Season 3 Episode 9 “Aporia”

Further grounding the thematic notions of ones’ story and perspective within a compelling narrative, ‘Fargo’ is able to finally balance its multiple strands just right to capitalise upon momentum. While Emitt’s relationship with his brother should have been explained earlier in the season, in retrospect it does provide an excellent new perspective on the brothers. This season’s characters have always felt a little one-dimensional with strong, yet ultimately simple, personality traits. But this episode works to show the vulnerability in Varga and the righteousness in Nikki. Again, such an escalation of each character’s role should have come earlier, and the tension therefore never electrifies, but the finale seems to have clear purpose which will hopefully keep the show on track. 9.2/10
