Review: Bloodline Season 3 Episode 6 “Part 29”

Despite excellently direct court-room sequences and the common tone of desperation and labour scattered through the show’s many disjointed stories, the lack of urgency is significantly hurting this season. While it began with an excellent punch of tension, suspense and paranoia, there is noting keeping the stakes high. We are constantly showcased gloomy, morally ambiguous and tortured characters, for good reason, but their feelings of pressure are subdued from the audience’s perspective by the show’s procedural developments. Again, the future looks bright with Chelsea’s renewed determination which could present an interesting discussion of the hierarchy, or the traditional family power, being toppled by the peasants or poor, but whether that eventuates and the impact it has it anyone’s guess. 7.5/10
