Review: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 3 Episode 4 “Kimmy Goes To College!”

Cleverly taking two political narratives creates a powerful contrast between ignorance and activism. With Titus’ involvement in political messaging beginning out of his own selfish desires, ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ makes a potent point about millennials within our civil society, mirroring his actions with that of Lillian. Lillian’s choices may be questionable but her motivations are not, coming from her passion and willingness to protect her community. Mixed with humour, these are thoughtful storylines that bring the best out of their respective actor. However, while the ending provides a great step for Kimmy, her storyline here feels derivative and clichéd, sidelining her and not creating a strong connection to the other political statements. 9/10
