Review: Better Call Saul Season 3 Episode 6 “Off Brand”

Although the many different storylines did dilute the power and emotional intensity of each and there certainly seems to be a pandering towards ‘Breaking Bad’,  ‘Better Call Saul’ continues to be a resounding success with its intimate character studies and broad, encompassing look at control, the lasting effects of loss and consequence. This episode certainly feels like a necessary building block, one that capitalises on last week’s heights but also doesn’t slow down in terms of pushing the narrative forward. Many of the show’s typical technical and symbolic features were right in play here as well, with excellent lighting design and a beautiful sense of flow with the shows montage, not simply to transmit information in an interesting way, but to nail the impact and effect. 9.3/10
