Review: Master of None Season 2 Episode 4 “First Date”

‘Master of None’ diverts from its usual structure here, presenting a compelling array of first dates with a range of differing women. It’s an extremely interesting concept, not just to see how each date goes and the interactions between Dev and the women, but to see the diverse make-up of New York. While ‘Master of None’ has typically produced an Indian perspective, this episode emphasises the individual variety of people’s ethnicities, occupations and view of dating. It was also a smart decision to progress the episode with a constant interchange between women, rather than a cyclical structure. It may not be the most emotional, progressing or necessary episode, but it was certainly insightful. 8.6/10
