Review: Sense8 Season 2 Episode 4 “Polyphony”

‘Sense8’ inherently revolves around the concept of collectivity, the similarity between cultures and the human condition. Its premise allows these ideas to be explored in a beautiful symphony, however the creation of this harmonious atmosphere is starting to become repetitive and tedious. The show has revealed its clear formula of beginning and ending with aspects of mythology while the middle segment is given to the individual stories usually with a sequence promoting shared experiences, this time with the protests. I wouldn’t go as far as to say the show is starting to reject the individuality of each character, as they do have moments to showcase their unique skills, but the continual need to create connections seems to rip these situations of their own power and implications on the respective character. It’s a formula that though often inspiring, needs to be given some though to make sure these episodes have a distinct voice. 7.2/10
