Review: Designated Survivor Season 1 Episode 18 “Lazarus”

At this point in the season, the central conspiracy should be gaining momentum and beginning to have devastating results. While it is certainly widening its reach which is exciting in itself, it’s ‘face’ or personification is underwhelming and lacks tension. A lot here feels like filler, from Hannah’s investigation to the White House drama; soap opera like in its sudden drama, timed perfectly to upset harmony. The interwoven nature of the storylines is great and makes everything gel while the character dynamics continue to present a sense of heart often lacking in political shows. However, with some utterly cringeworthy product placement and talk of feminism that feels forced and under-developed, the show is not capitalising on its strongest features. 7/10
