Review: American Crime Season 3 Episode 5 “Episode 5”

Still struggling to create compelling individual narratives that do not feel fractured or irrelevant, ‘American Crime’ shifts its focus towards highlighting the concept of modern-day enslavement and the restrictions of the justice system. These themes have been prominent throughout this season, but the progression in this episode, though relatively lacking, was much bolder and more striking in terms of promoting a message. From discussing the ownership of men in relationships, to the our ties to the legal system, to the taking away of an identity, ‘American Crime’ continues to have wonderful, thought-provoking ideas, but unfortunately may be too far in to make the vessels delivering these  themes any more exciting. 7.9/10
