Review: The Path Season 2 Episode 12 “Spiritus Mundi”

Depicting the violent, manipulative and dangerous nature of leadership, ‘The Path’ reminds the viewer that while it may be dramatically gratifying to see the downfall of these controlling administrations, there will always be unintended consequences. The narrative Richard finds himself in promotes this harsh reality as while the Meyerist movement becomes under increased pressure, brilliantly highlighted in the momentum filled direction, his sacrifices are forgotten. Creating this desire to see Meyerism fall but also be rejuvenated is a complex notion that ‘The Path’ perfectly handles. It is enthralling and rapid progressing, and though I am still not a fan of Mary’s storyline, or the effect it has on the Cal/Sarah relationship, this is a compelling piece of television. 9.6/10
