Review: Grace and Frankie Season 3 Episode 11 “The Other Vibrator”

The final moments of this episode are shattering. There are instances of humour amongst the emotional intensity that eventually climaxes with the realisation of how much the viewer cares for these characters. It’s a stunning showcase for Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin who reinforce their characters perspectives brilliantly. These developments, arguments and displays of loss and confusion come about organically and they feel true to the character’s personas. Robert and Sol also face a difficult situation with the gay protests and seeing how they handle these confrontations is incredibly revealing in terms of character. While the numerous pressures upon Robert, including the generic understudy, and those that will soon come up seem a little contrived and dramatic, the way this narrative progresses is going to be intriguing. 9.4/10
