Verdict: Black Mirror Season 3 Episode 1 “Nosedive”

Forging a magnificent emotional connection with the protagonist, ‘Black Mirror’ returns by creating a foreboding tone that develops into a timely reminder of the entrancing and distracting nature of technology. Disturbing in its ability to create a premise that is almost desirable to the viewer, this episode is relatable, potent and mesmerising. While Lacie’s (played wonderfully by Bryce Dallas Howard) efforts to reach the wedding do verge slightly on extreme and comedic, the score beautifully makes the audience aware of the very real consequences and stakes for this journey. 9.6/10
