Verdict: Quarry Season 1 Episode 6 “His Deeds were Scattered”

The direction continues to be masterful, as is the cinematography and musical choices which work within the narrative and in emphasising the show’s distinct tone, style and personality. The acting is also impressive from the entire cast and the crafting of Memphis as a diverse, but problematic city is well done, portraying racial tensions in a potent manner. However, while this societal examination is intriguing, the narrative has slowed down considerably and with some of the storylines lacking cohesion and providing little information about their significance in the wider plot, this episode is slightly fragmented. 8.3/10
