Verdict: Quarry Season 1 Episode 4 “Seldom Realized”

Though the pace is slow and there is a lot of exposition and dialogue, the focus placed upon the relationship between Mac and Joni allows for deep character development and astounding performances from the show’s leads. Examining how the war and its consequences impacted not only Mac, but also Joni, ‘Quarry’ continues to be brilliantly written, with pulses of action and intrigue that provide an honourable representation of the 1970s in Southern America. This episode’s small, tight central location juxtaposed with the Olympic hostage event makes a big impression in clearly portraying the fear and terror in the world. 8.9/10
