Verdict: Easy Season 1 Episode 5 “Art and Life”

Using relationships more as a backdrop than in previous episodes, ‘Art and Life’ provided a serious discussion on a range of issues from privacy to technology to consumerism to generational difference, each well explored and written. Though it may lack any comedic punch and it would have been nice to have been given a greater understanding of the main character’s work and his form of narrative to compare with Allison’s, this episode was engaging enough that I’d watch a full series based solely on this plot. The acting was also stunning, providing layers to the characters and a great audience connection. On a side note, as a media student, these sort of discussions and themes are significant to me and I really enjoyed how Swanberg was able to incorporate them into a very human story. 9/10
