Verdict: Narcos Season 2 Episode 9 “Nuestra Finca”

Though Pablo Escobar continues to be romanticised, hilariously lying down in a flowering field like a sweet child, an interesting contrast is created between the man that he sees himself as and the reality, presented by his father, again emphasised by a sensational performance by Wagner Moura, who really does deserve more award attention. The concept of perception is further developed by Limon’s small subplot and his transformation over the course of the season. However, much of this and the episode’s other slightly interesting plots often lack impact due to a poor structure that scatters the stories without fluidity, randomly jumping between sequences without any proper transition. The cinematography though is absolutely stunning, especially in capturing the beauty of nature and its clear contrast to Medellin. 8.4/10
