Verdict: Outcast Season 1 Episode 9 “Close To Home”

‘Outcast’ perfectly builds suspense and the feeling of dread, slowly making the audience more and more aware of the darkness that has set down upon the town of Rome and it’s inhabitants. It is this meticulous crafting throughout “Close To Home” that continues to forge our emotional bond with the characters especially Kyle as this episodes makes it clear how much he and the people around him have been through. However, while the narrative is often set aside in order to reinforce this character development and a better balance between the A and B storylines would be recommended, the results, such as this episode’s shocking ending, are worth the wait, as the show’s main mythology continues to strengthen and the performances remain haunting. 8.7/10
