Verdict: Tallulah

‘Tallulah’ may not have the most enticing, original story, nor may its characters be groundbreaking in concept, but Heder’s beautiful, thought-provoking and warm writing transforms this film into a very personal piece of art, one that is honest and mature in its commentary on motherhood. However, while the film lacks a consistent energy or pace and it does have a number of typically contrived plot twists, Ellen Page and Allison Janney are phenomenal and possibly award-worthy, providing a nuance and complexity to their characters that should resonate emotionally with the viewer. 4/5
