Review: Suicide Squad

Atrociously edited with bizarre style and production design choices that clash in tone and distract from the film’s action (which is awfully weak so the viewer shouldn’t care), ‘Suicide Squad’ is a mess. The constant barrage of music becomes bothersome and spoils any quieter moments for the characters, who are performed well enough but superficial and absent of originiality or intrigue, with only flashes of humourous banter or interaction. While Amanda Walker is a steady force throughout and El Diablo is the only player given some depth, the lack of proper story, villain or any form of development makes this a disgrace to the comics and a disappointment to the fans. 1.5/5
