Review: The Fundamentals of Caring

While The Fundamentals of Caring certainly contains a few funny moments, Paul Rudd gives another stunning performance and it is at times beautifully directed and scored, the film is incredibly inconsistent in what it tries to achieve. It’s messages on fatherhood and disabilities are not as clear nor as resonant as one may hope as the film introduces too many distractions such as  Dot and Peaches, distracting from Ben and Trevor’s relationship which really drives the film and it’s witty, delightful tone. 3/5
